Rare 14k Gold Art Nouveau JR Wood Nude Women Figural Mens Signet Ring 9.7g Sz 12. Offered today is an antique solid 14k yellow gold men’s signet ring by well-known vintage jewelry company JR Wood. This is Art Nouveau at its best, with the figural nude women on the shoulders. Each woman has flowing hair, and appears to be smelling the bouquet of flowers in her hand. It is never easy to decipher the scripted letters on a signet ring, but at first glance, at least to me, this looks like a “LR” in script. It may look like something else to you. But the ring is really a collector’s item, whether the initials fit you or not–you could wear it as a conversation piece. The face measures a tad under 3/4 north to south. It is hallmarked 14k with the JR Wood hallmark. The ring weighs 9.7 grams and is a size 12. It can be sized by any competent jeweler. It’s in excellent vintage condition! Handmade during the Art Deco era. Features the motif of a figural man with curled arms and legs. This motif rests on an octagonal design, resembling a cameo style. The figural man contains hand-chased geometric details on his torso. The inside of the wide, cigar-style band is smooth and polished for comfortable and secure wear. Damage: Age appropriate wear. There are minor scratches on the inside of the band, which does not affect wear. This item features some tarnish, which gives the piece a lovely antique quality. Date Circa 1960s-1970s Retro. Size: 7.75 This ring could be sized by your jeweler if desired. Measurements: The top of the ring with the eagle body measures approximately 8mm girdle length x 10mm girdle width. The shank graduates from approximately 3mm and gradually increases to 6mm on the sides at the widest point of the eagle’s wings. When worn, the ring sits approximately 1/16 above the finger. Good Vintage Condition: As to be expected with vintage jewelry, there are scratches in the gold metal commensurate with true age and wear. Vintage Men’s 14k Yellow Gold Figural Ring with 3-Dimensional Head of an Eagle on Black Onyx with 0.3ctw Diamonds and a Ruby Eye. The 3-dimensional full eagle on the shoulder could be a military symbol emblem – so this may have been a custom made military ring. The eagle has always been a symbol of superior strength and intelligence. Marked: 14K (tested 14K) with Korean Hallmarks. Size: 12.5 This ring could be sized by your jeweler if desired. Measurements: The top of the ring with the eagle head measures approximately 15mm girdle length x 25mm girdle width. The shank measures approximately 5mm at the back and gradually increases to 14mm on the side which meets the black onyx top. When worn, the ring sits approximately 1/4 above the finger. There are 34 round faceted diamonds, each approximately 0.01 carat, so there are approximately 0.3ctw diamonds. The round faceted ruby gemstone eye is also approximately 1mm round, or 0.01 carat ruby.
