The mounting on this ring is very nice–it has a low profile and won’t get in the way or catch on anything–it has crisp, clean lines and is in excellent vintage condition. The ruby is “lab created” (with the same properties as genuine ruby), which is quite common for men’s vintage rings. The stone is NOT GLASS–it tests strongly positive for ruby on the Presidium gem tester but it’s not earth-mined. It measures 12 x 10 mm and is approximately 5.00 ct in size (being flat). It is set in four wide prongs, with openings in the mounting, at top, bottom and two sides. The shoulders and the area around the ruby are ribbed. The face measures 5/8 top to bottom. It is hallmarked 10k with a star maker’s mark, and the crisp, clear hallmarks evidence very little wear to the ring! It weighs 4 grams, is a size 9.5, and can be sized by any competent jeweler.
