Vintage Men’s 14k Yellow Gold Figural Ring with 3-Dimensional Head of an Eagle on Black Onyx with 0.3ctw Diamonds and a Ruby Eye. The 3-dimensional full eagle on the shoulder could be a military symbol emblem – so this may have been a custom made military ring. The eagle has always been a symbol of superior strength and intelligence. Marked: 14K (tested 14K) with Korean Hallmarks. Size: 12.5 This ring could be sized by your jeweler if desired. Measurements: The top of the ring with the eagle head measures approximately 15mm girdle length x 25mm girdle width. The shank measures approximately 5mm at the back and gradually increases to 14mm on the side which meets the black onyx top. When worn, the ring sits approximately 1/4 above the finger. There are 34 round faceted diamonds, each approximately 0.01 carat, so there are approximately 0.3ctw diamonds. The round faceted ruby gemstone eye is also approximately 1mm round, or 0.01 carat ruby. Good Vintage Condition: As to be expected with vintage jewelry, there are scratches in the gold metal commensurate with true age and wear. Some of the diamonds are chipped. The hinged top opens to reveal a secret compartment within the top of the ring. Many US servicemen were sent to fight in the Korean Conflict, and many did not come back alive. Measurements: The top area of the ring measures approximately 3/4″ girdle length x 1/2″ girdle width. The back of the shank measures approximately 5.4mm and gradually increases to 15.6mm at the shoulder sides under the top area. When worn, the ring sits approximately 1/8′ above the finger. Good vintage condition: There are light scratches in the sterling silver metal commensurate with true age and gentle wear. This ring was not worn much. Vintage Men’s Military Jewelry made from a brass mount with a top of 14k gold in a bezel setting. The shoulders and top have a punched design with “KOREA” and “1952” on the shoulders. The ring is obviously a momento of the Korean Conflict in which many American men fought a very difficult fight, and many US GIs were wounded, and many US service people were killed. No Marks on the inside of the ring shank. However, please note that the ring is Brass. Only the top area which is bezel set is 14K gold. The 14K gold inset cannot be weighed as it is bezel set within the brass ring. Measurements approximately: The top of the ring is approximately 3/4″ girdle length x 5/8″ girdle width. The 14k oval framed gold top measures approximately 1/2″ x 3/8″. The shank is approximately 2mm at the back and increases to approximately 12mm at the top of the shoulders. When worn, this ring sits approximately 3/16 above the finger. Weight of the entire ring: 11 grams.
