Eric de Kolb was born in Vienna, Austria in 1916, and his surrealistic artistry took him to work as a painter, jeweler, sculptor, as well as a fashion designer, among other roles. Marked 14k with designer’s name. Measures approx 51mm by 20mm. Measures approx 51mm wide at the top and tapers down to 5mm at the bottom. Weight approx 19.1 grams. Size approx 7 (sizable). Because of different gold testing practices (acid, electronic and x ray), items stamped 14k may read or actually be between 13.5k-15k gold. Until 1981, manufactures of jewelry could use gold that was 13.5karat or higher and round off, thus still stamping it 14k. This goes for 18k gold also 17.5k or higher.
