Details & Condition: Vintage Victorian 10k gold shield signet ring that was patented in 1885 and produced a short time after that – we were lucky enough to find the actual patent and this style was patented by a Robert Kullmann. The engraving on the sides is still beautiful and it has the Ionic style column shank. When you slip the ring on your finger it is as smooth as butter – generated by generations of wearing or just a quality piece, take your pick : On the front looks to be black onyx, with a shield on the front which has a faint letter engraved – it looks to be a P or a D. As it is over 100 years old there is wear to the shield – you can see the gold screw attaching it to the ring – but this does not detract from the piece, it really gives it character. The size is 10.25 (USA) Full size and weight and details below. As with all pre-owned items there will be some signs of age and use.
