This is a stunning late 20th century vintage large solid 18 K yellow gold men’s natural blue Star sapphire cabochon ring. Carefully examined and tested here I determine gemstone carat weight by comparing with a similar loose gemstone which I have many loose star sapphires, this gemstone measures 12.5 mm x 10 mm and it is 9 mm deep making it at least 10.0 cts. It has a very mild 6 ray star that you don’t see unless it’s in the sunlight otherwise it has amazing color and natural inclusions that enhance its beauty. I did shine a flashlight on it in my photo booth to expose the star as a star sapphires are very hard to photograph and this ring is much prettier than the photos. It weighs 13.8 grams and it is around size 12.25 – 12.5 that can easily be sized by a jeweler. The top of the gemstone sits 11.5 mm off the finger and the ring is 15.7 mm wide north to south on the top as it tapers to a thick and sturdy band that is marked 750 on the inside. 750 is the numerical equation for 18 K gold. Please study the photos this is a big beautiful ring not necessarily for a man and it is in excellent vintage condition ready to be worn and admired.
