Handsome and masculine Art Deco style scroll men’s ring with a large simulated Ruby and two clean white diamonds. The diamonds are very clean and white Old European cut stones, 1/4 carat each, total carat weight of diamonds. Weight 9.8 grams. Simulated Ruby 4.3mm x 4.3mm. Natural diamond #1 (big cutlet) 3.8mm VS clarity, clean and white. Natural diamond #2 (small cutlet) 3.7mm VS-SI clarity, clean stone but a 2 small “feathers” off to one side near girdle, otherwise clean and white. Width band 4.8mm. Wooden keepsake display box, 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ x 2 1/8. This is a NEW yet vintage Art Deco ring is from my uncles closed jewelry shop on New York’s 47th Street, the Diamond District. The shop closed in the 1990’s, but had been in the the family going back years and years. This has been stored in my uncle’s safe until recently. It is brand new old stock from circa 1920’s-1930’s. I have had it lightly buffet to restore luster… 14k does darken and dull with age naturally The pure gold is alloyed with metals that can tarnish, such as silver and copper. Simulated rubies were invented in France in 1903. They have the same chemical make up as a natural stone, and are considered indistinguishable under the microscope.
