Men’s Antique Art Deco c 1920 10K Gold VASELINE YellowithGreen SPINEL Enamel Ring
This exceptional antique ring dates from between the late Edwardian to early Art Deco period, as there are elements of both. The 10K white gold setting shows intricate engraving, most of which is decorated with blue, green, and black enamel. The enamel work with the pale yellow-green stone is a stunning combination. The bezel-set, emerald-cut stone is a spinel. The highly-reflective synthetic stone glows under UV or black light, as uranium or vaseline glass would. But this genuine gemstone is spinel, and although it was man-made in the lab, it phosphoresces like any natural phosphorescent mineral. The inside shank is embossed “10K” inside a rectangle. Appears to have never been sized. Please keep in mind that the photos show the ring highly magnified and any flaws seen are not visible to the naked eye. Approximate measurements: 15.2 mm–face of ring North to South, 3.6 mm–back of shank. Approximate weight: 6.67 grams. Note: The color of the spinel is not as green as photos show. It is more pale with more yellow, especially in indoor light, close to the color of real Vaseline. Photos and video were taken in sunlight. Here is this magnificent early to mid 20th century antique or vintage huge men’s solid 10 K yellow and white gold ring with a stunning. 30 ct F – G color VS1 clarity round faceted old European cut natural earth mined diamond set in white gold In the center of a created or synthetic red spinel gemstone center. The synthetic spinel was commonly used in Deco jewelry because of its amazing iridescent colors. This ring weighs 12 grams and it is a size 11.25 that can be sized by a jeweler if needed. The top of the ring measures 16 mm north south and tapers down to a thick and sturdy band that is marked 10 K on the inside with some other numbers. Please study the photos this is a magnificent antique men’s diamond ring , it shows very little If any signs of wear and it is in excellent condition. Vintage 10k Gold Mens Flat Face Royal Sapphire Blue Spinel Ring 6.2 gr Size 7.5. For your consideration today is a fine quality, heavy, solid 10k yellow gold blue spinel ring by vintage jewelry manufacturers “Hallmark”. This company was founded in NYC in 1934, and this ring bears their maker’s mark. The stone in this ring is such a cool color–even nicer in person than the photos taken on this cloudy day depict. The ring is a class act. It could be worn by a man or a woman, in its current finger size 7.5, or sized upward or downward by your jeweler to suit. The blue spinel is most likely lab-created, with its brilliant royal blue. It tests positive for spinel on the Presidium gem tester–it is NOT GLASS. Lab created gemstones were popular in vintage rings. It is rectangular in shape, measuring approximately 12 x 10 mm and is in excellent condition with no abrasion or scratches. It’s set in a top and bottom bezel, with open sides. The setting is simplistic, with concave “V” shoulders which rise to meet the stone. The face of this ring measures 1/2″ by 3/8″. The ring is marked 10k with the “HALLMARK” maker’s mark, and it weighs a hefty 6.2 grams. It feels nice and sturdy on the hand. It is a size 7.5 and can be sized by any competent jeweler. Vintage 14k Wt Gold Art Deco Mens Color Change Lab Aquamarine Ring. Vintage 14k Wt Gold Art Deco Vari Gem Mens Color Change Aquamarine Spinel Ring. Offered today is a very unique antique 1930s men’s ring in solid heavy 14k white gold, by vintage jewelry company “Vari-Gem” (which was around in the early part of the 20th century). This ring is unique on two levels–first, the patented design (which I will explain), and secondly, the mesmerizing color of the gemstone, which changes from a turquoise green-blue, to more of a deeper blue, depending on the light. I took this ring to our reputable GIA Gemologist appraiser (with brick and mortar jewelry appraisal stand alone office) for evaluation. She has confirmed that this stone is synthetic spinel in an unusual color, for a color change stone. If you like DIFFERENT, this might just be for you! It took me a few minutes to figure out why this ring had a patent pending. If you look underneath the mounting’s head, you will see two TEENY TINY screws, which apparently help to secure the stone. Possibly this design was originally formulated so maybe you could change out the stone easily? The 10 x 8 mm emerald cut aquamarine-colored spinel (approx 2.50 ct) is a Maui sea green/blue color in natural light, very true to the color in these photos. When you bring it inside, it looks more of a steely blue. It is flanked on each side by a round white sapphire set in 3 prongs, within a triangle. The mounting is strong and heavy–if you are looking for a men’s ring that isn’t “cookie cutter” this might be the one for you! It is hallmarked VARI GEM 14k and Pat Pend. The hallmarks are crisp and clear, evidencing its very good condition. The face measures 9/16″ top to bottom and tapers gradually to 3/16″ at the inside of the finger. It weighs a heavy 9.3 grams, and it’s a size 9.75. This vintage Art Deco men’s lab aquamarine ring is in very good condition for its age!
